There are times that I just need to take a step back and thank my lucky stars for the little things in my life. Some of these things are huge, some make me smile, some make me laugh out loud. Regardless...they are central to my happiness. In no particular order here are my top five.
1. My kids...It would be wrong not to start out with the three punks that call me mama. They are the light of my life. I cannot imagine a day without them. As cute and innocent as they look, they tend to squirm away from me when I hug them and squeeze them and call them George...
2. Sunrise...there is nothing I love more than to stop my car and watch the sun appear along the horizon. With all the driving I do, the sun has become a dear friend.
3. Sad eyes and soft ears...What can I say? Oh, my dear Stella. I would like to call you my running partner, but walking is more your speed. I would like to tell you all my problems, but you tend to sleep through most of our conversations. Regardless, you are the sweetest pooch I have ever known.
4. Migration...I live directly in the snow geese migration path. Every year I look forward with great anticipation to the sights and sounds of thousands of geese flying overhead. It is a genuine gift to live on the Great Plains.
5. Car washes...It has come to my attention that my car has become a graffiti target. Someone in my office is finding great pleasure in leaving me little notes of encouragement. I promise I will wash it someday soon, maybe next Monday.
