I will start by saying that I am not a great writer. A storyteller maybe, but a writer not so much. A friend told me not so long ago that you will never become a good writer unless you begin to write. It doesn't have to be perfect, just begin.
So after much agonizing, I am going to step out of my comfort zone, the place that is wrapped in flannel, smells like horses, and sounds like Sheryl Crow song. I keep telling myself this will be good for me, I think...
I am a mother of three girls, wife, rancher, educator, chore girl, runner, rodeo and basketball mom, canner, cook, butte climber, commuter, and a sarcastic romantic.
I hope to tell a story of life on the northern plains. It is windy here. Windy enough for me to stop buying trampolines. After watching three of them flung into the air like kites, I have thrown in the towel. Sorry girls, no more trampolines. It also is starkly beautiful, Not the kind of beautiful you see looking at the Rocky Mountains or the Grand Canyon, but beautiful in its own way. The prairie is vast and open. Sunsets last forever. Star gazing and northern lights are a way of life.
I live for crazy adventures, great horses, good books and, of course, my family. They are why I get up each morning. I hope you join me on this adventure. I would love to connect with you in many ways. Please let me know what you think.
